PRIVACY
A weather lookup without an account.
Enter a ZIP code or city and state without an account or location permission. YesterSky does not remember your location between ordinary homepage visits.
What your browser remembers.
Your explicit color-theme and unit preferences are stored on your device using the browser’s local storage, under yestersky-theme and yestersky-units. These explicit preferences expire after 180 days and are not sent to a profile service. Defaults are not saved. No location is kept in cookies, local storage, session storage or IndexedDB. Use the controls below or your browser’s site-data settings to remove appearance choices.
Turning remembering off removes saved theme and units, retaining only a minimal objection flag without an identifier. YesterSky does not use advertising cookies. No account, contact form, runtime AI service or advertising system is enabled.
Use current location.
Current location is used only after you tap the button and grant browser permission. Device coordinates are sent by a same-origin POST and used transiently to match a supported U.S. or Canadian place. They are not saved as a personal location preference. There is no background location tracking. The resulting public place may appear in normal result, share and bookmark URLs, just as with manual search. Raw device coordinates are not included in those URLs or sent to advertising or Web Analytics.
Requests and hosting.
Cloudflare hosts, secures and delivers YesterSky. A request necessarily includes information used to deliver and secure the service, such as the requested URL, IP address, browser details and timing. Cloudflare may process that information under its own service and security practices. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Cloudflare also provides privacy-focused aggregate Web Analytics and performance measurement. This measurement uses no analytics cookies or local storage and does not create a remembered visitor profile.
Typed location text is sent by same-origin POST for matching and is not intentionally logged or stored. Public station/date/interval weather snapshots are shared across visitors; this is weather caching, not a visitor profile. Routine persistent application request logging is disabled. The Cloudflare measurement is not used for cross-site visitor tracking.
Weather observations come from NOAA’s Aviation Weather Center through bounded requests triggered by visitor demand. Viewing a retained result does not cause your browser to contact NOAA. Following an external source link takes you to that provider’s site.
Shared links and voluntary messages.
A new result link contains a public place reference ID, selected station, date, time zone and exact day interval. It reveals your selected locality context to the host and anyone you share it with, without locating your device or a precise home address. Anyone with the link can request the same public station/date result while it remains in the supported recent window. The record may later be corrected or expire.
If you email feedback, the project receives the message and the sender information you choose to provide. Avoid sending private addresses or sensitive documents when a station/date link is enough. Email opens in your own mail application; the website does not send a message for you.
Changes and contact.
Ads remain disabled. If advertising or additional measurement is proposed, the privacy notice and any required consent handling must be updated before those services are activated.
Privacy questions can be sent to engineering@sparkandspoolco.com.

Context and return links.
Links between full weather, rain and overnight cold carry your deliberately selected public place reference and date. They work on reload or in another tab without remembering you. An ordinary homepage visit still starts blank. These links add no location cookie, browser storage or device identifier.
Share this result fixes the historical place and date. Keep this location exposes a different link that calculates the prior completed calendar day in that place each time you open it. Open it and deliberately bookmark that page using your browser. These URLs reveal the selected public location to their recipients and the host; they do not identify a person or device. Our no-referrer policy prevents sending this page URL as a referrer to other sites.
